Yes as a return to my blog I thought I would dig up an old faithful post.

This month I am..

Slimming down.. I have joined slimming world and have just lost my first half stone.. only another (cough) many to go ;)

decorating and gardening, after the extensions there is still so much to sort out - its a builders yard in parts of the garden.

Sorting out a holiday - going to Cornwall for 10 days in a few wks and definitely booking a 2 wks away in the Caribbean next yr.

Wondering if I should take a break from my Raccoon hair extensions or just get them redone before I go :D

Its been a while hasnt it, I guess alot of us get caught up in our lives and now tweet rather than blog.

Ive still watched the odd youtube beauty video but realised I have amounted a pornographic amount of makeup and I just cant justify the space it takes up when i perhaps only use some of it once a year.

Also since going blonde Ive had to change my makeup.

So In the next wk I will be listing things I no longer use. Mac, Nars. the usual suspects - well loved and little used. It seams a waste to throw things out and rather than give them away Ive decided to raise some money to buy the eldest a new Mac computer.. if she behaves ;).

So watch this space and you may grab a bargain or find that one thing you want.

Hello!! update

well ive been so busy as per usual and had so much going on this past yr Ive really neglected to blog and ive stopped making vids. My confidance too a nose dive this year and Ive had depression since my children were born off and on. Dealing with negative comments on my videos didnt help so I stepped away then had no balls to come back.
Things that have changed for me this year, Ive gone blonde - that was hard work from dyed black hairand ill blog about that in detail at a later date.
Spent the school summer holidays in Cornwall. 5 wks by the sea was lovely but with kids dogs and other half it was hard going. Having our own grand design but more of a mini version in the form of an extension so we have room for Caitlin to have her own space and bugger bathroom and garage for Jeff to hang out in. At the min we are decorating and waiting for the electricians to finish wiring it all in. Hope it will be done before xmas.
Ill be back soon and havent fell into a pit of despair.

Whilst shopping like a loony at my favorite shopping outlet village in Bicester, I got a bagful of stuff from the Estee lauder outlet shop (cosmetic company shop).

One of them being this lovely mac pigment.
So my eye of the day has to be Heritage Rouge - over the top of power surge eye kohl.
On the Lips its Benefit jing a ling lipstick and a dior addict pink gloss on the top
Foundation Chanel pro lumiere in 30 and contour mac blunt blush & blush warm soul

Makes my green eyes stand out no end I think :)
I will post a pic of the other things I have picked up from there. I was going to do a video but Im currently so full of the flu it would just be disgusting to watch

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Im sure like me alot of you ate and drank so much over Christmas. But not as much as I had in previous years. Learnt by my mid January and still feeling bleugh mistakes of yrs gone by. I had only gained 2lbs over xmas but after new yr and more alcohol another 2lbs lol but Christmas morning I weighed myself and was under the 11 stone mark (10 stone 13) which was my mini goal, an achievement from the previous Jan when I was 12st 13lbs and distraught by it.

My resolve to only buy a box of chocolates and none of the snacky foods fell by the wayside as family seamed to try and fatten us all up with gifts of chocolates, and my fanatic baking and cooking went into overload.
Brownies, Rocky Road, Morrocan Lamb Tangine, and my xmas dinner pudding and my first pavlova(success).

Im am addicted to Nigella Lawsons Christmas cooking book and its on its second year and so easy to follow -even impressed the mother in law with my white wine marinaded stuffed and rolled pork loin on boxing day. Brownie points to be cashed in for babysitting in the future ;)
I can never manage to catch Caitlin for a photo over christmas - she is 11 and shy and awkward :) but so lovely and so unlike my singing drama queen Madde (above).
I wont list the all Christmas presents I received but I was spoiled by the girls and Jeff.

My new years eve outfit was a lovely vero moda dress in a size 14 whoop whopp! :D a jersey dress with a wet leather look double frill around the bottom and an exposed zip down the back, draped in a ton of pearly beads from topshop in their half price sale and sky high patent peep toe shoes.
After trying to round up friends and family it just ended up me and him for the evening but we bumped into people we hadnt seen in years and ended up having a really great night and having prebooked taxi's each way we were home before 2am. There is nothing worse than the taxi rank queue in the freezing cold in the early hours whilst fights between drunken louts and screaming girls break out. (my girls are never going into town).

I have now kicked myself up the arse and from yesterday weighing in at 11 stone 2lbs I am back on the low carb and sugar free wagon and looking forward to getting back into running again.

We took my parents to our local the King Billy in Northampton on Christmas eve. Bless them both in their 70's and listening to a live rock band :) They had a great time.

Some of you may have read I was having some domestic bother on twitter this past week, thankyou for all the lovely messages. I was going to do a post about it but its a bit personal to get into but I am ok and changing what I put up with. I am actually quiet lovely :) and need to be treated so.

wednesdays run

I have been using my nike+ for my running distances ect but after talking to a few people about the times I am out for ect. They advised I try and run where It can be mapped as I might need to play about with my settings on my nike thing.
I have used this website a couple of times now and you can zoom in, see street names, terrain ect and on sattelite view its distance mapping is excellent within a few ft.
So I ran half of the Brampton Valley way on weds, its a huge foot/cycle route through Northamptonshire and boy was it cold out.
My nike+ counted my pace and measured 5.2 miles including turning around halfway and coming back. I was like woohoo thats the most I had done.
I got in and actually mapped it from the carpark I started in to the carpark about the halfway mark... to find I actually did over 7 miles,

Now it seams like loads doesnt it. for the first mile I was fannying about getting the dogs away from the farm bit, getting my ipod on, hat and gloves and zipping my coat up. I then jogged for a couple of miles and had to stop to get them over the train track then carried on. It was a bit stop and start most of the first half but on the way back I only stopped once and was so pleased.
yesterday -thurs I dont think I could bend my legs lol but today apart from a bit of tenderness around my knees I feel great.
I would definitely run this one again it is a great training ground for the 5k Im thinking of doing next year

I was intending to make a youtube video but my camera on my macbook keeps going off. i should get it looked at but tbh with all this running Ive been doing lately Im so shattered to do anything constructive. Also a haul video with the things I bought when nadia was here for the week has been put on hold as I honestly cant remeber what it was it got.. need to rumage around... Anyway back to my original post

I love christmas even more than new year!
I love the fact Jeff has find the 'perfect' tree and the hours of trapesing around every single garden centre and tree nursery until one takes his fancy. Then choosing to buy a tree so big he then has to butcher it to get it into the house, a turkey so fat it even says on it to feed 20-24 ppl and nothing else will fit in the oven.

The kids having so many presents they inevitably open everything at once and lose an important piece to the one thing that will hold there interest long enough for me to try and get into the kitchen to help Jeff.

He is definately a traditional guy. Likes being in charge of the bbq in the summer and the full on Christmas dinner. Im not complaining I love that about him. My dad is the same. I like a man to take charge and be a man when its needed :D Its over all too soon it seems the shops open boxing day now for the sames and we dont get snow here until feb/early march. I wish everyone would just see it as a time to take a holiday and spend it with family.
For that one day and maybe even 2 if Jeff can get the time off I will be having a family Christmas :D

So you guys that know me or see me on twitter will know that Nadia from the blog Love Lipstick and Lime or Trucco905 on twitter is currently in England from Canada staying with me and my daughters for the week.

Its has been fantastic and like having a best friend. Loads of girly chat - shopping everyday, Northampton, Bicester designer outlet, Milton Keynes and that is from monday to weds! lol.

We have bought makeup from the CCO - underwear - handbags and clothing from dept stores, eaten out and had cocktails,dyed and straightened her hair -it has been so much fun.

The usual English weather hasnt failed us or stopped us in our tracks! I would film a haul video but well you can just imagine lol
Nadia will leave on Saturday which will be awful as we are such good friends now its always worrying when you meet in 'real life' but it was as if we had known each other for years.
Anyway back to the inflatable bed which is the only place a good hostess should reside!

Playing...
With my new white 32gig iphone
Ive had an itouch since they came out and loved my pink and gold sony erricson but ive dropped it so many times and it has missing corners and is a couple of yrs old now so time for the big kahuna!
I had all the apps already and knew how to find my way around it it was just the ease of having the phone and ipod function and apps all in 1 so less to carry. My itunes library on my macbook is gigantic so only the larger storage phone would do.

Running..
Still using the getrunning app but now on my iphone - wk 6 run 1 tomorrow. Saturday a.m I did my longest run yet which was 20 mins - I did it in the rain and also added on another 3 mins to it.
To say I was ecstatic afterwards was an understatement I was grinning like a cheshire cat as it was only weeks before that running the 1 min made me cough, gasp, and feel like my legs were burning and breaking beneath me.
I run in the woods near me with the dogs I feel safe, there are always alot of others about running and on moutain bikes - I see the same people but always vary my route. Its soft underfoot so not alot of stress on the knees but oh god its muddy :)

Dieting..
Well as my previous youtube post and vid I rejoined weightwatchers. I have been having a good week but then out of nowhere my period appeared so now I feel bloated and huge. I had one day where I didnt really point and we went out for a carvery and I had a dessert and vodka diet coke :D My 1 crappy day. But I have been keeping up the running so I am hoping for a couple of lbs. I have pcos so dont lose a hell of a lot of weight fast ive got to live with that which is a shitter!. But anything off will be great.

Recovering..
After my off from my dirt bike and bruised abdomen and arms I feel as good as new! That'll teach me to try and do jumps when I dont have the ability only the enthusiasm lol

Watching...
Live music.. I love a good gig - The last few weeks we have been to see Robbie Williams in Camden at the BBC Electric Proms - just an amazing set, he is so so nice. The big orchestra backing just made it perfect.
Then on Halloween we went to see Pink on her funhouse tour - getting tickets from Ticketmaster a few days before we paid about £60 each one for the premium seats. Which wasnt bad as on ebay they were selling for over that. We were at the side of the stage and had better viewing than 70% of the standing crowd. She was amazing the girl can move in heels!! What a great performer. Jeff loved it too even though he isnt a huge fan and only knew the chart songs she had done. The bummer of the night was that Birmingham doesnt have trains after 11pm so we were screwed and had to get a £75 taxi home.. you can imagine how that went down. We didnt think to check and assumed as its a large city. Doh!

Jeff this month well maybe hate is too strong he cant do anything right, maybe im too hard to please maybe he just doesnt try enough. He has a short fuse and Yells and slams doors, I get over emotional and cry and 'never listen' or agree. Its good most of the time but some weeks its hard to find things to like about him. Relationships are so hard to make work when you only see someone 2 days a week its like there is so much pressure to get along.
But if we didnt work at it it would just mean there was nothing to fight for.

Loving..
Autumn, falling leaves, bonfire night, halloween, warm foods and casseroles. Roasted dinners. The heating is on in the house the curtains are drawn early so its candle light snuggly and warm.

Making...
Diet friendly foods, more fish, soups,hot chicken and bacon salads, Pasta for the girls. I cant eat alot of carbs doesnt agree with me but I love cooking. Just need to get Jeff to try healthier foods rather than him eating takeaway when we all have dinner. Selfish sod!

Buying...
In Birmingham before the pink gig I picked up, nars sheer glow foundation in the color Santa Fe, the color I would compare to chanel 20 clair or a maybe a 30. Light in color but matches my neck. When My fake tan wears off my head always still looks tanned compared to my body so I chose a lighter foundation. Also picked up 2 of the bobbi brown cream eyeshadows. Disappointing as they are so sheer you can build them up the girl said they are really pretty but work better as bases i think.

Well its that time of year again, Festive lights, slinky dresses, winter woolies. Central heating creating a tropical environment in houses and shops.
If it aint enough to be a bit chubby already then don a cable knit sweater dress 40 denier opaque tights to enhance my tree trunks and off I go.. its a full on chub fest! within 10 mins i feel like clawing myself out of the clothes and going au natural as my body heat creates a shrinking effect with the wool.. cue claustrophic panic attack..Something has to be done.

I have been trundling along kind of dieting on my own for months ..all wk - kind of eating takeaways at the weekend bolstering myself that its all good and running every other day :D After hearing that some of you great girls have stated weightwatchers and that a girl has a challenge well.. I thought maybe I should pull my finger out and join in and drop some fat. you can view Jess's channel here - she is very inspirational
I have the exercising sorted.. now on wk 5 of the running program so its just the food side of it to take in hand.

I rejoined weight watchers this morning which was surreal for a couple of reasons.

1. I am 1.5lbs lighter than the last time I had a ww weigh in! bonus. 5 months and no gain!

2. It was like going back in time because everything was exactly the same even the people. The class I go to is full of older women, or girls with scrunchie pony tails and prams full of kids screaming.. I feel a bit out of place and none of them looked noticably slimmer than when I was last there in May. I dont stay for the meetings as by the time the weighing in is done and the meeting gets going it can be over an hr and a half of sitting around. I have never found them motivating. The leader has lost a stone and admits she has a hard time keeping it off and doesnt really give you the oompft you are looking for.

So here is my starting weight
5'1 height
11st 8lbs
I am on 21 points a day
Ive been set a 5% goal for shoot for which will take me to 11 stone.. Any more than 8lbs to aim for at present seams so unattainable and will have me diving into the cake tin as quick as a flash.. so its baby steps..

7. Interesting things about me:

1. I am the middle child of 9 siblings 6 sisters and 2 brothers - yes hectic at christmas

2. I have a morbid love of zombie movies my fave is dawn of the dead.

I was an original goth in my early to late teens I was angst ridden dressed head to toe in black listening to the sisters of mercy, bauhaus, banshees ect ect I spent most of my time following my ex husband around as he played guitar in a grunge/thrash metal band - smoking dope feeling spiritual and being original haha so we thought!

4.I dye my hair every 4 weeks no more no less - I have been 70% grey since I was in my late teens just as my mum was. Im naturally dark brown though not the black I like to dye my hair :D

4. I have 2 daughters from my prev marriage that are the funniest girls in the world - they make it all worthwhile

5. I havent smoked now for nearly 3 yrs but smoked from my teens till then giving up each time I was pregnant but starting again soon after. Sometimes I miss it but dont know why.

6. I am a serial dieter but my love of good food is my downfall, Jeff is a feeder when he is at home and I am an eater lol

Ready, Steady, Grow! eyebrow update!!

I have always had a love hate relationship with my brows. More on the hate part recently.
I had huge thick furry caterpillars in the 80's fueled by the likes of brook shields, thinner more natural looking ones in the early 90's like many of the models and popstars and that obsession with perfection led to over plucking.
I have thin brows which are missing the front part. I dont pluck from anywhere but underneath on the outer arch now.
Whilst searching the net and hearing liposils being great for eyelashes I came across the same thing for eyebrows! yay!! and being able to get anything in the world on ebay I bought something called Talika.

On there website the testimonials made me reassured but I decided to document the growth if any - weekly :D

So from tonight I will upload a photo each week of my eyebrows - without any pencilling in or brow powder.

My brows au natural! yes you see the problem.. alot of penciling in. But a good starting point to see if it works! Excuse the puffy eyes - its 6am, having 2 girls I have to get in the bathroom early lol

I was going to post a pic last week but there was nothing at all.
After applying morning and night so far there hasnt been any dramatic difference to see - the fine hairs I would have plucked daily are coming through and I am not plucking at all which is killing me. Should take about 28 days so halfway through this isnt bad as there is some growth but it could just be what have grown if I stopped plucking anyway lol always the skeptic!

I will stick with it and let you know

Running..
with the help of an app called get running I put onto my ipod touch and a book that gives motivation and tips I am once again enjoying the cold air and warm legs.. must invest in some thermal gloves though.. cold fingers.

Dieting..
Sticking to calories I have lost 4lbs this wk - yay! Its really just about eating less and moving more, easier in principal though I have been hungry. More whole grains and fibre. I want to lose a stone before christmas when I have to see the family and get the scrutiny from relatives I only see at xmas and dont really give a care about.

Resisting..
The urge to get my hair trimmed. Its been about 2 months I think But I love it when it has longer layers in it. Maybe get a trim before Christmas.

Wearing...
My jeans alot and longer tops with my new boots.. the weather has turned colder. I love wrapping up though. Not having a body to die for and all I will swamp it in snuggly knits. but none of that husky printed stuff Ill have you know!

Loving..

Ive started running again!

I purchased a book called Running made easy and it tells you how to get into it, or back into it in my case. I never did races or marathons I think the furthest distance I used to run was 7 miles around a reservoir. More of a plodder than a sprinter.
I was at about 10 stone then and liked that weight still about a stone over my ideal weight but I like having boobs and bumb and being toned up I was in a size 10/12 and happy!

I am still 11.9 I am great at being able to stay the same weight whilst on a diet! Just call me Plateau Banton! lol yes fat girls always laugh at themselves! is it because we want to get in there first?
I also used to run all the time with the dogs in the woods up until 2 summers ago when I tripped over a tree root and fractured my ankle and torn ligaments and had to have too long in a cast and crutches. (I didnt take advice and stay off it - with Jeff away and me on my own with the kids I just couldnt. I had to drive I had to do all the normal things - going up and down the stairs on my bottom because I couldnt weight bear lol.)
I had physio but never really felt it was as strong as it was and overcompensating for it on my other foot meant strains and pains elsewhere.

So, I have been walking the dogs for about 5 miles 3-4 times a week for the past few months now trying to build up stamina, strength and get into a routine. I prefer to be outside compared to the gym and get so bored on the treadmill - even though its easy to see how far you have gone speed ect.
So today whilst walking the dogs about halfway round and an hr in - in heavy walking boots my ipod blasting dance remixes at me I just started jogging.
I really love it and it gives me such an endorphin kick. I timed myself and ran for 60 seconds - walked for 2 mins. I did this 6 times (couldnt remember what it said in the book but what the hell it felt great) Not very much or very far or even a sprint but its a start.
I really need to sit down and read the book a bit more It gives you a plan on how long to run and rest for.
I need a plan or I will throw myself into it with carefree abandon and end up injured.
I now need to locate a decent sports bra to strap these things down as they have a tendancy to pop out when running lol not as attractive as it sounds.. not so much Lucy Pinder as a gasping for oxygen Jo Brand!

Sunny September.. Indian Summer maybe? July/Aug was a washout all summer in Northampton. Thank god for.....

Dieting, this should be in as I am trying to lose weight still but I just cant be bothered with the effort of worrying what I eat at the moment. I am doing more each day just need to eat less!
I havent put on a lb though since my last ww weigh in a few months back. Mainly because I put a few on then lose a few classic yo-yo dieting.. If it was easy we would all look like models though lol

Leggings - I hate them! I wore them in the 80's and then I was trim and damned hot but now My legs are chunkier and I just couldnt make myself look stupid by going out in them.

Fashion - I am not a fan of this long t-shirt and leggings thing it doesnt suit my shape and I dont like it on other girls. Im more surfer style than high st trend follower. Ugg boots flared dark denim skirt and tank tops with woolly cardis or bike racing hoodies. Thats as casual as I get :)

Layered hair, now the layers are growing out my hair is looking wide lol I am trying to grow them out though i prefer one length hair but I will have to see how thick it gets.

Mac Fix+ spray rediscovered

If your anything like me you buy the latest beauty product and if you love it other things are pushed to the back of drawers, cupboards and boxes and forgotten.
I really should stop buying new things as I am now closing my bathroom cabinet and dreading opening it as things are tumbling out lol plus I really do have alot of great things to use up.
Clearing out my bathroom cabinet I found my fix+ spray and tbh I cant remember when I used it last!
With the impending mac style black collection with the divine black mineral eyeshadows Im pining for I am keeping this out to use with them. I should really use it more often as I love that smell so much too!
My uses for fix+
This is perfect to use when applying minerals and pigments wet for more wow factor!
I loved this to set my makeup and when I over powder I used to use a spritz to take off the heavy look.
Misting over hair if it gets unrully and I dont have time to straighten it. Not a great hairspray but calms down stray hairs. Great if you need to restyle though.
This is lovely to spray over your face after you cleanse and moisturise and before you put on your makeup as it has vitamins and minerals, calming tea plus it makes your base last longer!

I was contacted and asked if I wanted to be the voice of Sunlove in the UK and try their product. Being a fake tan addict this year I jumped at the chance.
To be honest I had never heard of it, I stuck to the brands I knew and read about in the UK glossies. Fake Bake, St Tropez, St Moritz in varying forms. I have been getting spray tanned at my local salon with fake bake wkly.

Anyway I checked out their website and was very impressed with what it said about the at home airbrush tan.
It says:

2 days later and it arrived and I was so very excited to open it up and see the goods.
I received the bottle of bronzing lotion, Air canister and the bottle/misting gadget .

After soaking and scrubbing off all my old tan, I dispensed some of the bronzing tanning liquid into the spray bottle about half full .
Standing in the bath on an old towel (airbrush tans do mist over everything) I started with my legs working up my body. Easy to apply until you come to doing your bottom and back and backs of arms/thighs.
This was such a struggle as any tilting of the spray can means it splutters, drips and doesn't mist well at all. This isn't good if your doing a part you can hardly reach at all as you have to blend that out. I ended up dispensing some onto my boots tanning mitt and smoothing it out.

So 4 hours later here are the good the bad and my thoughts of the Sunlove System

The Good:

The huge bottle of bronzing tanning lotion 16oz
Microfine misting you cant even feel
Smells delicious no biscuit smell here
The color - not orange at all this is the color I go when I have time to sit in the sun for 3wks (I dont tan fast)
Being able to go out after applying it and not hide indoors waiting to wash it off.
Seeing where you have applied it with the great bronze color guide.

The Bad:

Spraying horizontally and when you don't the splutters and splashes you get on you.
The struggle to reach all areas evenly whilst doing the above, cant tilt it at all!

The dark lotion needed to be applied at least twice to get the color I usually get with my salon airbrush.
The mess the misting makes over the entire bathroom it covers everything in a brown tinge.
The canister running out after the second application - 2 should be sold at least with the size of the lotion bottle.

My Thoughts
I love the color and smell and the spray is so fine you cant even feel it apart from a light breeze.
The downside for me in a big way was not being able to reach all areas evenly. It would be great to have this formulation in an aerosol or mousse and I cannot fault the color it gives.
If they brought this out in a mousse or spray can I would definitely use it rather than my salon tans.
If you asked me if it was worth purchasing, I would say that for the color,result and if someone can apply it for you then definitely give it a go. But if you were planning to do it alone, unless you were very bendy and liked cleaning give it a miss.

*** Update**

I do like it but honestly I have had better fake tans, Being sent it for free I did feel like I had to like it and seeing other ppls reviews on you tube so many people really loved it, but I wanted to give my honest opinion.
I have showered this morning and I am left with a patchy light color, I can see where I could reach, a nice light shade not orange but just what I would get with dove summer glow tanning moisturiser or similar.
Yes this can be layered to suit your preference but I dont really want the hassel to keep on applying it to get a tanned color.
I had after all done two coats. I am booked in to get a spray tan done this afternoon as I feel a bit of a patchy mess.

If anyone is keen to try this I have the bottle 95% full but the aerosol canister is Empty. They can be purchased on their website for about $12. I dont want any money for it as it was sent to me for free but if you want to post me something makeup of beauty related for the postage then that would be nice ;) Leave a comment 1st come first served x

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer Duo £25

I am in love with a concealer.. I have tried so many and have been failed.. but this one is the one.
Thank god because it isnt cheap!

My expectations are always high when I spend more on a product than the drugstore equivalent. My wish list was to conceal where I use it without fading, sliding off, caking up, making me break out or just wiping away throughout the day.

I want one to cover up dark circles under my eyes when I have been up till late but not settle into my creases and little lines. It needs to cover blemishes but not block my pores causing more. I need it to stay on and set where I am more oily on my t-zone alot fo others just slide off.

This does all the above for me and i mix a little of it with my mac eye rescue cream for flawless under eyes.
Because it is two toned I can mix the color to match where i need it. Lighter under eyes and darker on the rest of my face. I pat it on blemish scars and blend out the edges.

I always use my concealers after foundations unless I am wearing bare minerals in which case it is before.
It is definately worth the money in my opinion but I wish they could bring it out in a smaller Palette. Its the size of a powder compact so not very portable if you like to travel light. Which you know I like to do.
I am sc3 which is perfect for me a medium color with a lighter shade too.
This is the first Laura Mercier Product I have used, do you own any? are there any must haves :)

The Fear..

Last friday was a bit traumatic..

I have always been a confidant driver. As long as I know where I am going I don't tend to mind and I never have a need to go on the motorways as days out ect are usually with Jeff and him being a 'professional driver' means him at the wheel when he is home . Plus when hes in the car and I drive he hangs onto the side like he is in a rollercoaster and gasps and gulps alot.

So for the last 15 or so year I think I've driven on the motorway once. By mistake after taking the wrong turning lol. Not driving on them has made me nervous about driving on them.
As a passenger Ive seen idiot drivers diving in and out of gaps barely missing other cars and its frightening. Passed by accidents and been sat in Jams while they scrape up cars and people.
I dont want to be the cause of a pile up, and the more you worry about doing something the more extreme the visions of terror and crash fatality's become.
Being nervous about driving on them has in turn made anyone that knows me drive on them if we go anywhere on a motorway. I mean who wants to be a passenger in a car when the driver is not confidant!!
Anyway.. Jeff had to drop off his truck in Canterbury and needed me to follow him there and bring him home, so no choice...
So a after a sleepness night we set off at 5am Jeff told me to stay behind him as he can only do 55mph and set up the sat nav in case we get separated...lol like I would let that happen..

To say that as I drove down the slip road to the M1 that I was frightened would be an understatement. I drove like a learner. Both hands gripping the wheel, legs tensed and jaw clenched.
3hrs it took from Northampton to Canterbury. It took maybe about an hr for me to relax a bit. I hated overtaking but luckily the M1/m25 was mostly roadworks and traffic so it wasn't high speed at all. Just staying out of peoples way and following Jeff. At one point I panicked myself thinking I had been following the wrong lorry and couldnt remember his numberplate lol
Eventually we got there and I had never been so happy to get out of the car. I didnt even stop at all on the way to go to the loo. :)
On the way back (Jeff drove :D) we stopped off in Canterbury what a lovely little town. We had lunch and I popped into Fenwicks! I am a sucker for a counter after all. Never seeing a Laura Mercier counter before I bounded over and picked up the duo concealer palette and the burnished copper eyeshadow cream. The mac counter was empty so I also picked up another msf natural, dazzleglass in stepping out, lip pencil in stone and some mac wipes.

I am not so nervous of motorways now I have had the experience but I still would rather not drive on them unless I have to!

Mac Reflects Pearl Pigment .. in my nails!

yes you read it right..... bling!!!!

I have had acrylic nails for about 10 years off and on. I know they are probably not very good for my own nails but I dye my hair every 5-6 weeks, fake tan and use a ton of products that probably have enough combined chemicals in to stun a small army of pygmy's if digested all at once.
So its safe to say I am a bit superficial and as long as it doesnt kill me (fingers crossed) I dont give a shit :D
I have had my acrylic nails tipped with many colors, black, blue, greens, pink glitters ect. Changing from turquoise to white this time I took in my mac pigment on the off chance she could see if it set ok.
The results are lovely very subtle. The glittery whites she uses had more holographic reflective properties and tended to look a bit like shimmery green and red.
So the uses for mac pigments continues.
Do you have any unusual uses for your pigments rather than just eyes and lips?

The last weekend before the girls go back to school we decided to hit the beach. We live in pretty much the middle of England and it takes us 3 hrs to get to the east coast from Northampton.. Jeff spent many a childhood holiday in Mabelthorpe... explains a few things lol
We dug a huge hole, ate cupcakes and chips, played baseball with the dogs returning the long shots we occasionally hit. The weather was cloudy and brisk definitely September in the air but it didnt ruin our day there. Days when we are all together are few and far between with Jeff being away all wk and the girls at their dads every other weekend so it was great to all do something together. Make the most of the time you all get together :)

My skincare routine updated

2009 has been my year to sort out my skin.

I stopped smoking a few years back and at that time my skin had bad cystic acne, the texture was very spongey looking with alot of open pores blemishes and scarring from picking spots. That coupled with facial hair problems I get from having PCOS and the ingrown hairs aswell.. I had just plastered more and more makeup on top to cover it all up and get some kind of good look to me.
I had used dermalogica off and on coupled with drugstore brands olay, clearasil garnier. Never used to use face scrubs and only used a mask when I was at my wits end.
so now fast forward 3 yrs later and my skin I have to say is looking and feeling pretty great!

I have spent so much time trying out things over the years ive realised what works for me. I still get the occasional spot but not the sore lumps under my skin. I think having laser hair removal on my face helped alot as I no longer pick and tweeze and even touch my face at all half as much as I used to. My pores are tightened but I still get my oily t zone but its now down the sides of my nose a bit on the chin. i often skip foundation for Estee lauders daywear sheer tint release and a bit of concealer under my eyes. For a girl that used to trowel it on this is a huge accomplishment.
So this is what works for me. Exfoliation as Ive said previously has been the key thing for me helping to reduce my scarring and clear my blocked skin so all the other things I put on it actually can work rather than adding to the build up.

I cleanse with dermalogica pre cleanse. this is a dry oil which then turns milky as it emulsifies with water - this removes all my makeup I always wash it off with hot water and a flannel which opens my pores and gives my skin a really clean glowing feeling.

I am out of my avon exfolliation pads but picked up for a steal the dermalogica professional micro exfoliation serum caps in a big tin from ebay for about £7 retail for about £60 i think. I use half of one of these (they reseal) and apply it masaging into my face and leave for up to 7 mins before rinsing off. I only do this once or twice a week they are very effective and tingly!

I then use my soothing protection spray from dermalogica which is a mist and has alot of calming ingredients and leaves a lovely moistened feel to the skin and helps other products penetrate better.

Since watching Pixiwoos videos on skincare I thought it was time i invested in some nice stuff as I am now 35 and getting little lines here and there.
I picked up Estee Lauders Timezone anti aging cream this is very thick but melts in I use this at night.
Estee Lauder perfectionist, its a serum which is supposed to help plump out any lines and stimulate collagen production.. you never know :)
I use this daily under my spf 30 Estee Lauder Daywear anti oxident cream.

My use when necessary items are
Dermalogica soothing booster
If my skin is chapped from being outside or red at all i use a bit of Dermalogica soothing booster under and moisturizer.
Dermalogica vitamin capsules.
Great for a vitamin boost I apply one under my cream at night if I have somewhere special to go to the next day makes my skin just glow.

I am hunting for a great eyecream if anyone can recommend one, I dont get eye bags or dark circles really not that I notice just fine lines.

Mac Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection Haul

I love pigments and glitters, any excuse for full on sparkly dramatic eyes and Im on it!
I went to mac today. Milton Keynes is the nearest counter to me and its always such a jumble and the displays are always empty where the MUA take the products for makeovers so you need to be prepared and know what you want to see.
Love the quads from this collection but Ive reigned myself in recently with purchases as ive found I buy on impulse then find they are either colors that dont suit me or i never reach for.
Alot of the pigments I wouldnt use often and they are expensive even though you get alot of product.
Heritage rouge looked nice and if anyone gets it and wants to swap for a 1/4 tsp of my fuschia pigment then let me know. The lipsticks were a bit dark for me so I went for the lightest but one. The eyeliners I didnt fancy I have so many from other brands that do the job for a 8th of the cost. Nail polishes did nothing for me either.

So this is what I got from the latest mac collection.
1 quad. Notoriety
1 lippy in high strung
1 glitter pigment in Fuschia
mac 131 brush from the colorcraft collection they had loads left if your hunting one!

push the edge, disappointed in this as its such a matt flat color but looked great on others swatches
brash and bold for use under fuschia glitter :D

I got what I went to get.. I also blagged two pigment samples pleading that I would never use a whole jar of the colors but want to recreate the postcard glittery eye for an occasion!.. always the embellisher when its for a freebie lol but I always spend alot at the counter and they laugh at how I always know the names and numbers of tings I want when they themselves struggle to know what I mean.

Did any of you have a look at this collection? what did you think? I could have give the quad a miss as I have similar colors but its cute for taking away :D I needed it lol

Well i just spent half hour recording my msf collection and swatching to connect the camera and the movie file was unopenable. I hate it when that happens. I took photos and also the swatches so I will do a blog post and I will attempt to do another youtube video maybe on monday or over the weekend if I get time :).

So here we are my Mac MSF collection. It all started with new vegas - yes a glittery mess if you dont buff it it, but when you do it looks amazing and gives a high gold sheen to the cheekbones. After that I was hooked and have been picking them up here there any everywhere. Some of the most coveted ones I havent come across yet, lightscapade, global glow, stereo rose. I prefered the triples in the color craft as it was getting 3 for 1. I swapped my mineral quads for msfs in mac because I thought the color payoff wasn't very good for the price or hype.

With my weekend adventures on the bike I need makeup that will stay where it is put! So I made a youtube vid to hopefully help anyone that has trouble with 110mph on a bike literally blasting it off your face lol

Pillion Packing, minimal but effective

Many of you know I am a huge motorbike fan :D I own a little 125 dirtbike and go on the back of Jeff's zx10r as often as possible.
We go for alot of wk ends away and overnight stays. Have been to races and camped at trackside.

I love the adventure and excitement of being free to go anywhere and sometimes we never know where we will end up.
We have been to many seaside towns and also ended up in a travel lodge an hr from home when we just didnt have the energy to go the last 50 miles.
Last year we went down to Newquay and stayed a week there. Bought clothes and other things we needed there and anything we wanted to keep we just posted home before we left.
I can go minimal.... well i hope i could if needed lol.. but still want to look hot and sexy, afterall I am a biker girl lol
All this has made me realise that with a 25litre tankbag you have to be picky about what you take.
A backpack isnt an option on a sports bike apart from being extremely uncomfortable its unsafe it the worst happens.

You can take more if its in minature yay!! samples, disposable, multipurpose are my godsends .
I allow myself a small bag which I pack with face products and makeup and hair products. Ebay has been a godsend and I regularly hunt out sachets of shampoo, conditioner, dermalogica face products. Mini spray perfumes.
If we go for longer than a couple of days then shampoo, conditioner shower gel will be bought there and left in the room for the cost of a couple of quid I'd like to squeeze in my travel straighteners :D I have hidden makeup in Jeffs shoes before when I had no more room lol and left out underwear for an msf lol
I have built up a collection of samples, collected from inside magazines, beauty counters, my mum (mums do tend to collect travel size things I have discovered).
All my face care items I take in sachet form - you can fit more in than even with small bottles of the same.
This is my sample bundle I keep it topped up so I have plenty to choose from if we get to go away at the last min.

Makeup, I take palettes I try and leave my mac ones at home - if anything shatters it would make alot of mess.
My away makeup usually consists of.
Urban decay ammo palette or my estee lauder bronze goddess or hello kitty one. Take minimal room and you can make alot of looks and use as highlighters. I did try the new mac quad e/s from the color craft collection last time but just not pigmented enough to be versatile.
Estee Lauder Daywear plus foundation! it will not budge - sample size bottles from the E/L counter that I just refill from my own bottle. Tiny bottle will last me 4-5 days.

A bronzer - I have a small pot with my HG contour in which is bare minerals faux tan
Blushers - I usually use lipstick or something from a e/s palette

This is all I would take and below all packed and ready to go

(& my mini straighteners if I go longer than 2 nights)

Clothes: This is based on what I would take for a fri to sun night away stay.
I have a couple of shirts dresses. 2 allsaints ones a black and olive/khaki color and one more fitted black one. I have a lovely navy french connection dresses too.
These are ideal as you can dress them up or down with accessories. bangles and big earings and sandles can be worn for night or day depending on the style. I tend to go chunkier for the day and wear silver and sparkly at night with more dramatic makeup.
Shirt dresses can be rolled up very small and can be teamed with jeans if its colder or worn alone. I also take 2 tops one I wear on the way down under my leathers. Another for the way back which can also be worn with the jeans. So thats 3 outfits at a push for hardly any room. Footwear can be tricky I take flat packed ballet pumps if it looks like rain or my gold mango sandles. Both can do for day or night.
Having to leave my heels is hard but we have been away enough now to know that walking around a seaside town up and down windy lanes and along the shore in heels isnt practical or comfortable and after hours on the bike you would give anything for a little comfort :)

Fighting with the heat i decided to wear a full base rather than a TM, the Laura Mercier, cliniques ones I have a brilliant but when it is this hot the moisturiser in them makes them slippy on me, not a good look.
Having combination skin - normal dry on my cheeks and normal oily on my t-zone I need somthing to even it all out and the foundations I love for this are
Clinique superbalanced and superfit foundations
Revlon Colorstay
Mac SFF but I find this gives such a heavy coverage on me.
Bare Minerals powder foundation (this is amazing on me, I mix fair and a bit of medium to get my color) its fast to apply and gives a light diffused finish and controls oils and feels like your wearing nothing!
Chanel Matt Lumiere - pricey but a perfect finish! I save this for my nights out :D

Makeup that doesnt budge!

Trying to get makeup to stay on and not budge is my summer holy grail!. I go out with Jeff on his bike in the summer so as well as my helmet being put on, taken off numerous times also the wind whipping about around you can take its toll on a well made up face.
Revlon colorstay foundation, lasts but can looked caked on after a fw hrs, paint pots are good but if my eyes are watery then they are no good either lol
Maybe no makeup would be the option but noooooo way :D so Ladies... do any of you have any secret non budging makeup tips? as I would like to look just like I do when I leave the house 'see above' as when I arrive at our destination!

PCOS Laser hair removal and FOTD

Face of the day :)
Bare minerals foundation powder in light, illamasqua bronzer duo, mac angel on the lips with bountiful plushglass on the top. UDPP on lids then, lucy tom palette, the blue/purply color over lid and the black in the crease :)

This was pre laser hair removal!
I have PCOS have had it since my late teens...the symptoms are iregular periods I used to have 3 a yr if that they are alot better now.
Instead of the egg being released it gets blocked and forms a cyst which can be so very cramping painful.
Excess hair, now this is the bitch... as I am dark haired it is so much more noticable. The hair that you have normally on your face, fair downy fluff.. on me is dark and due to hormonal imbalance some of it is coarse! I remember as a teen getting so upset about it and waxing wasnt really an option 16 ys ago so I used to pluck. This in turn made me get very spotty due to ingrown hairs and constantly fussing with my face.
Excess weight stored around the middle of your abdomen, yeah this kind of sucks too. I am an apple shape. Due mainly to insulin resistance so your body stores fat rather than releasing the energy back for use. Over tiredness aswell.
Fertility problems, I guess I was lucky on this one as in when my husband and I decided to try for a family after a few months and tests I was given clomid.
This stimulates your ovaries to go in to mass production and voila Caitlin appeared followed by Madde.
There are loads more problems that can come from having PCOS but I just suffer with the above, as far as I know and healthcare being what it is in the UK My gp hasnt offered any treatment and doesnt think metformin would be for me! I still argue that point lol
So today after a year and a half of not needing any laser I noticed a few hairs appearing and before I knew it there was more than feasbly possible to pluck. I dont mine one or 2 but well I was starting to get spotty again!
The place I go to Laser Hair removal clinic in Northampton is fantastic and very professional the nurses there' they are actually qualified nurses that have specialised in this treatment' are very understanding as it is so very embarrasing.

So I was all booked in and off I went. It doesnt really hurt, took about 10 mins to go over my cheeks and lower face- top lip is the most sensitive. You pay for time there £40 for 15 mins, so I enquired about my armpits and she said she could do it in my time. Now my underarms are sensitve and ticklish lol but omg it was like someone flicking an elastic band.
I did make a few eeeek noises and held my breath but it took her about 2 mins to do each one. They look sore but feel ok! the dark hairs have been basically burnt so they will come out with the root aswell leaving nothing for 3 weeks! how cool is that.

It may take up to 6 sessions to get them all done as the hairs that dont return are the ones zapped in the growing phase if you understand.
This is a fw hrs afterwards, my chin feels a bit swollen but should all be ok tomorrow

Excuse my lily white body I am in mass exfoliation mode as I want to tan up for the wk end lol

If anyone is considering having it done it is definitely worth it, not painful more uncomfortable!

Face of the Day

This was my take on Sam/pixiwoos green eyes look she did in her fave products video using what I have.

I love makeup and have been known by lunchtime if I have the time to wash it all off and apply again just for a change of look lol maybe a bit obsessed some might think!
After watching pixiwoo's latest products she loves video i realised I had never wore green on my eyes.. so there it began!

Having green eyes anyway I have never thought it would look any good on me and being heavy lidded I often just wear one eye color as technical creasework and elaborate blending lasts about an hr as my eyelids literally rub it off even with UDPP. Apart from having my eyelids done which is scarey i'm stuck with them :D

How often do you pick the same color makeup, the same combinations and colors? Just lately ive been wearing alot of blues neutrals and browns but feel Ive so much makeup It will out live me before I make a dent in it.

While being tempted by project 10 pan that Laura started I dont want to get through them before buying more I love trying new things & I just want to start using more of what i do have more often and in different combinations.
I have always binned my mascaras after 3 months sometimes less if i have OD'd on a particular one Loreal Collagen for example, gave me great lashes and the love affair lasted about 9wks. So I am now onto the telescopic mascara but dont like the brush much!

Anyway....back to the challenge
I have pallettes bought e/s then looked at them and thought. well i dont think I would wear that color or just use a few out of a pallette rather than them all. But I cant bin things just for the hell of it and if I sell things then see it used in a different way by someone else then wish I had kept it!
So everyday I will be using makeup I havent used in at least a month! if you have alot then this will be easy if not then use colors you wouldnt wear. Space is tight in my bathroom so my makeup needs to earn its keep!
Today the things I have used have been in the back of the draw apart from the pallett which is new. I do have a couple of e/s never touched in my palettes lol so that will be fun.
I will try and post daily either here or on my twitter daily booth!

Hi everyone - I really should kick myself up the bum for more videos and blog posts but the truth is when the sun is out so am I. In the garden with the kids and dogs and just constantly on the go.
I took my mum shopping in town and picked up a few things. After clearing out the bottom of my closet to the charity shop there was room made for some more shoes!
So after adding makeup and covering my chunky arms emptying bags ect I vloggd it :D

Jeff being home for the last two and a half weeks, lots of loving and going places together - yay!

David Austin Roses - I love roses, huge old English blooms that have a heady musky rose scent and are as big as tea cups. I have nearly 2 dozen roses climbers, bushes ect in my garden and pick them for indoors the best fragrance ever. They bring back memories of being young and picking rose petals to try and make perfume and ending up using half a bottle of mums charlie and chanel perfume mixed in.

The big diet blowout... avoided ww for a week.. Jeff makes me eat.. honestly lol mainly cause he always seams to be eating and I have no willpower.

I am loving coral lips something colorful for a change, Macs way to love from the rose romance collection especially with my glowing cheeks from being out in the sun the nude lip look isnt working at the moment!
Also Loreal Color Riche Shine Gelée in shiny grapefruit is a coral/red color and very lip balm like.

Waterproof makeup, lately the wind, sun, rain makes my eyes run! any eyeshadow I apply doesnt last long so I have been using loreal touch resist cream eyeshadow for the 2nd year running and I love it paired with Maybelline waterproof lash stylist which does not move!

Britney Spears - taking the kids to see her next weds in London at the 02 arena! hardly every been to London and have a fear of getting lost. God help us :D

Avon, ordered some bits from the new Avon lady - lip plumping gloss - not bad but still get that panic as lips tingle that I will end up with a irreversible trout pout reaction! lovely color but color lasted longer than the plumping effect. Always have loved their enhancing bras, wonderbra effect but with more cup coverage as my boobs tend to fall out the middle'life of their own' being a DD I need to strap then in! Definately worth trying if you have heaving bosoms and like them lifted and contained!

Sunshine!! the last week has seen where I live in middle England to have a surreal heatwave which my wardrobe was definitely not prepared for! So up into the loft for my linen trousers, maxi dresses and strappy sandals.
I love the sun and its been an in the garden week for me and the other half. Jeff arranging sleepers ect and me planting anything that was in bloom and picking flowers

Jeff losing his job 2 and a half weeks ago! driving abroad all week then being told he was being laid off was awful for us and I have been so very stressed out about having no income. But hes not one to sit on his arse and is a great provider.
Now starting a new job tomorrow so is all packed in his new lorry but not happy about going away for the week again as he misses us. awww.

School trips.
both my girls have been away the last week for outward bound activity trips for 3 days each and it always brings me to tears saying goodbye they look so little and their suitcases so overflowing.

Dazzleglass V Maybelline watershine diamonds

I have a few of the new dazzleglasses from MAC and love the colors in the tubes, but in the flesh they are pretty much a let down. If I use them over lipsticks they feel very gloopy, sticky and give a thick texture to the lips, but on their own apart from a very very subtle shimmer thats all you get. I am not dazzled.
I like a gloss over lipstick to give high shine and a glittery look sometimes.
I purchased some maybelline watershine diamonds glosses from ebay very cheaply and prefer them to the mac dazzleglasses.
High glittery shine, good texture more slippy than sticky and a great color pay off, the red one you can use on its own as it is that highly pigmented! or over a red lip for the wow factor.
So if you are after a bargain they are worth a few pounds on ebay I got 5 for about £5.

Go with the Faux, Tanning review

As a break from the norm I decided to try a different tan.
Ive used St.Tropez, ventured with fake bake on occasion , purchased Piz Buin when its on offer in boots or TK Maxx. Spray tan at my local salon if ive done the prep and have no tan left in the bottle. Really must throw empties away as it gives the illusion of something that just isnt there lol.
I always come back to St Tropez because of its ease of application, streakless result (however ham fisted I am in applying)and slightly olive color rather than tango orange. Also I can buy this in boots and dont have to wait for delivery.

Watching QVC the other evening because bare minerals was on, I have used bare minerals foundation powder for about a month now after since seeing lovely Lorraine @ http://thecurrentcustom.blogspot.com/ show how she uses it on her you tube video. I didnt know all the other stuff they did!
I had picked up a 2g jar of the foundation from ebay in light and loved it. So bought the larger size and also some blushes and finishing powders. This is the first time ive used a powder foundation and liked the coverage and light reflective properties it gives, I dont like looking too matt.

There also was a fake tan.. a mineral tan... oooh. The bare minerals had cleared up spots on my chin and made my skin look so much clearer, so who knows what it would be like elsewhere.
Its a little bottle 128ml, it arrived with a nice bag, bronzing powder and angled blush brush I paid £31 for the 3 items on QVC . You can buy this on its own for £11 on other sites, but I wanted the bronzer and brush and bag:D
I have buffed and polished, used a tiny bit of body butter on my knees, elbows and ankles.
The tan is little easier to use than the Tropez, its the same color the same smear it on fast working it in and not missing any bits application but it feels more moisturising and didnt smudge if I went over the same bit more than once.
You can apply this and go out, unlike the St Tropez one which looks like treacle and has that smell to it.
This has the fragrance of almonds/ think marzipan :) the smell does fade and isnt overpowering. It dries fast and within 5 mins i was able to put on my dressing gown and chill out on the sofa.
3 hrs on and I am a really nice color, the final result will be after I have showered tomorrow and I will update then.

The morning after and I am very impressed - It isnt as dark as other tan products I have used but for this time of year I dont want to glow. It is more of a natural tan color, no orange which is a bonus! This will be a repurchase , no streaks, no mess, lovely smell.

Diets and exercise, what do you do to stay trim?

I havent blogged for a bit as I have been so busy and had recurring tonsillitis and more antibiotics ect. I am taking loads of vitamins to see if that boosts my immune system.

OK I have posted a vid on my weight, joining weight watchers ect.. this way I can be accountable and not cheat lol I will update once a week on a wednesday afternoon with my progress :)
Week 1 is going well so far 2 days in so far and I am enjoying food and though its a pain working out some points as I like to cook from fresh I feel thinner and less bloated and groggy.

On the health topic, I am still going to the gym 4 times a week and power walking 10km(7miles) at 6km an hr that takes me about 90 mins, give or take the odd slow down to guzzle water and then I do hal hr of weights and then 20 mins on the cross trainer which I hate.
I dont know how accurate the machines are for calculating calories but the treadmill reads 520cals burned off and the crosstrainer 120 which isnt bad.
I am hoping that having a controlled diet combined with working out will shift the weight. I am not one of these girls that dont mind being bigger. I just hate it on me :(. I have PCOS which I think doesnt help, insulin resistance can make you store fat -so my fat is mostly stored around my middle and that by itself isnt healthy.
If anyone else wants to join in then post and let me know :)

Also.. in this months Glamor mag there is an article on sleeping your way thin! apparently if you get a min of 7 and a half hrs sleep a night you will lose more weight than those that sleep for less!!
So off I go for an early night lol you just never know do you

My Big Splurge

Where I live the town is very big, but very limited in what decent makeup you can get. There are superdrug, boots pharmacy a small House of fraser but that has very minimal counters.

We went to Birmingham for the day on the train to pick up the girls some new school shoes, and other clothes and makeup and general impulse buys for me.
The other half didnt want anything and couldn't even be convinced he should get something he doesnt need. The voice of reason lol

the bullring is the main shopping centre it was is huge! I was in heaven, I could have gone in every shop but it wouldnt have been fair to him and the kids so I carefully chose the ones I really wanted to get stuff from that had alot of floor/rack space lol (tactical maneuvers), Selfridges has the best MU counters, and clothing counters the big superdrug for beauty staples and basics, I picked up some accessories turquoise and silver beaded necklace and earings from monsoon/accessorize and some white peal/shell earings from warehouse.

I love traveling anywhere on the train and my dad used to work for the railway for 26 yrs before he retired.

My mum and dad and 4 of us children out of the 9 had free travel passes so when we went to the seaside in the holidays when I was a child my Mum, younger brother and sisters and I traveled down to Cornwall on the train while dad took the fully loaded up car there.

The journey home however was another story!
Waiting for a train in Birmingham New Street station is no fun when the football fans are on their way home, singing and yelling I understand but abuse and swearing and being drunk is just so intimidating. Especially when you have little children to get home and its half 6 at night and we are all so weary from being on our feet all day.

The first train was cancelled, 20 mins later the train pulled up and we all piled on, jostling we managed to get us all seated. 10 mins later it was announced this train was cancelled so could be all get off.
Sightly annoyed with the girls getting so tired we shuffled around the station platform now packed.
On the electronic board the next one wasnt for another 50 mins - if that one would even be running.
We asked what we should do and was told that If he was us the platform attendant would get out of there as power failures had meant no trains would be going through the International station.
We hopped on a train to Rugby - which is nearer to home at least lol Police were on there as there were alot of football fans being asses. They escorted some off at the next stop. By this point Madde my youngest was upset - all the shouting and singing ect had frightened her and the police stood over me and her to give reassurance.
10 mins later another train arrived there which took us to Northampton.
We got in very late - it was a long day. We should have took the car, Jeff didnt say so but he should have lol a 1 hr train journey hom e took 3 and a half hours and half hr home from the station.

Brushes

Weekly I clean my makeup brushes even If I havent used them, airborne bacteria can linger and I dont want nasty germs on my skin, they just really take so long to dry. I dont have a huge collection my Ruby and Millie ones that I had in an xmas set (silver handled) I only use them for patting glitters or pigments on as blending would be like skin removal. My Jemma Kidd stipple brush from Boots is a perfect dupe for my mac 187 brush and I use this more often and keep it in my bag for my msf's.
I always dry them slightly pointing downwards so they dont come unglued and therefore start to shed in time. My new 109 sheds like a dog in summer though, in everything I use it for :(
My Mac collection is growing though and I am pleased to have got hold of lil smudger brush from the BBr collection yay and the mini 181 mac kabuki.

Loreal Extra Volume With Collagen Mascara,

The claim.. lashes look instantly plumped up 12x more lash impact.

I thought I would give this a go, My voluminous has run dry and they did have stock in the store but this has £2 off in Superdrug and was therefore about the same price.

It has a fat brush which loads alot of mascara on it and the product feels wet - which made my lashes that I had curled drop slightly. I had to apply several coats to get the thickness I like at the base of my lashes and it did start to clump so I had to comb them through. I dont feel it made my lashes any longer and in my opinion its not worth the price tag.
**Remember folks Eva Longoria's lashes were styled using lash inserts.**
I feel its such a con when they advertise mascara and do that!.

I will use this up but will still be sticking to my borjouis volume clubbing ultra black mascara and my clinique high definition one which is the same as the voluminous.

I love the look of the disney couture leather wrap bracelet alot of people have been sporting. Its really cute - but Ive never been a big disney fan, the disney film marathons my kids have had in the past have probably put me off.
Also.. not one to follow the crowd that closely and always trying to be original I was pleased when on my way to get my nails done in a little boutique a few doors down I spotted alot of variations of the disney bracelet in the window of a handmade jewelery shop.

The lady there showed me loads of variations that she makes and tons and tons of other things, I was in heaven lol.
She was making an Audrey Hepburn one, ones with cupcakes on and tinkerbell fairy ones and anything made to order.
The best part though was definately the price. £19.95.. I would have thought they were double the price.
I loved the alice in wonderland ones but wanted one on black rather than blue and within half an hour she had made one to order for me and i told her which items i wanted on it and how many.
They havent added any pics of the bracelts on their website yet as soon as she makes them they sell so fast.
if you want to order from them they ship anywhere just let them know a black haired girl recommended her lol
I am more of an Alice in Wonderland girl maybe I am more of that era than disney :D

I went to see the estee lauder summer LTD edt colection the other day only really wanting to pick up the Aqua teal duo eye pencil but ended up being really impressed with most of it :)
I picked up the Bronze Goddess Sunblush Illuminator which is a pinky terracotta blush centre with a more shimmery highlight color around the outside. Highly pigmented so go careful and be lighthanded!
The Duo pencil in aqual teal.
High Gloss lip gloss in 30 Golden Goddess - its a nude shimmery gloss tacky enough to have staying power and just devine over a nude lipstick.
Swatched on my lipstick free lips.

Sand and sea eyeshadow palette with the colors
Turquoise, Aqua, bronze club, gold nuggett, tea biscuit and ginger drop.
I have used this since saturday in a variety of different ways from just wearing tea biscuit over the entire lid and lining my eyes in the aqua eyepencil, to mimicking pixiwoo's look of brights on the eye by wearing gold nugget on the lower lid - aqua up to the brow and turquoise in the crease. This was £28 and definately a bargain compared to paying for individual colors from mac and although they have a shimmer to them the colors do stand out if you use a primer and they are long lasting.
The girls on the `northampton counter of EL are so cute lol and on dissing the chanel counter girl to them about not being very helpful with foundation matching or samples they threw stuff at me lol
I got samples of idealist x3,time zone x3, nutritious mineral loose powder and a mini bottle of advanced night repair serum.
I will definitely be going back to get the perfume which has a delicious mandarin smell to it.

Reduced items cheer me up :D especially if they are a real bargain and what I love!

Ok so I didnt really need cheering up - I can talk myself into any purchase! really I can.
I popped into boots after the gym for a calorie controlled sarnie I am in love with the creamcheese and sunblush tomato ones, and they had shelves of perfume on sale and body lotions ect.

I couldnt resist
I picked up Guccu II 50ml reduced from £43 to £21 but at the till it was reduced even more to £15
Then I got L.A.M.B perfume £22 down to £10 then £5!!! at the till
and the body lotion £15 down to £7 and £3.50 what a bargain!!
saving over £50 altogether

I then perused the makeup but am holding out to check on the sugarsweet collection. But seeing as I was given a £2 off voucher at the till for any revlon, L'oreal or Bourjois makeup I picked up the nail polish that alot of you are coveting at present the Revlon 093 Tropical Temptation.

All in all a good morning :)

I went shopping today to take back some gym stuff that was not so much unforgiving as completely devoid of any flattery whatsoever.
If you have ever seen the show little britain and the only gay in the village sketch then you may have a pretty good idea of how tight this all in one bratop workout t-shirt thing was. Yes that tight lol

TK Maxx is like a outlet store that carries alot of designer brands that are from previous seasons with about 30% off the original rrp. Now this in its self has some flaws. Mainly if its crap when it was in the designer shop and didnt sell, then its still crap its just cheaper.
I have only ever go a few black tops from there in the past, diesel and roxy. They tend to have alot of the smaller sizes.
but the shoe racks!
I love shoes and especially flats as I walk alot and spend all day on my feet and adore wedges because i can be tall in them and not feel like I'm gonna topple on over and flash a gusset.
How I escaped with just 3 pairs I' will never know!

Well after a hectic day of decorating the house with balloons making sure everywhere was booked there was no stopping us.
Fuelled by cinema Junk and high on a RomCom it was onward to pizza Hut for more Junk.
Where after a nice glass of White Chardonnay I felt alot more in control lol
Mall Cop is very funny and light hearted the girls loved it and cackled their heads off.
they are now fast asleep and I'm sat here with a lush face mask on 'love lettuce' the lavender in it really does my skin the world of good.

A quiet relief that the day has gone really well and a reflection on 11 years ago in a hospital bed with this tiny little wide eyed girl gazing up at me.
I kept all the little things from when they were infants.
These are the tags she had on her wrists and hospital cot. Its enough to make me broody but those days are gone.

Ok so I thought I would have a go at the gucci s/s look that Sam Chapman did on Tanya a while back - using my urban decay palette i used shattered as i dont have the exact color, Lighter eyebrows,smudged smoulder mac pencil, clinique glosswear gloss in bamboo pink and my matt lumiere foundation from chanel in the shade 30 and a bit of lilicent creme blush from mac
Dressing gown from monsoon but in the half price sale as original price was £70!
Sombre look because I have PMT! so its either crying or being angry or eating everything :D
Dont ask about the diet - while i havent put weight on in the last few weeks it hasnt gone down either. I should really make some effort but daughters birthday tomorrow and I will have screaming 11 year olds, family cinema movie and pizza hut.

Well I went shopping in town for my daughters birthday next Tues (cant believe she will be 11!!) After I got her everything she asked for and then some 'as you do' lol I wandered into the main dept store.
YSL, Chanel ect... bright lights handbags old ladies buying polyester ya know that kind of place.

I was really looking for the estee lauder summer items the quad and duel eyeliner pencils ect but they wont be in there till April.. boo.

So to console myself i picked up a couple of Chanel bits.
Matt lumiere as i feel the pro lumiere doesnt give me the flawless coverage I want when i go out at night and the Bronze universal mousse bronzer.
Very Impressed with both :D The Bronzer really layers well under blush and isnt green/orange tinted when on my skin a lighter terracotta shade.

So on the high of buying new things I sashayed to the YSL counter.
I saw lovely Laura (lollipop26) showcase some of the Rough Volupte lipsticks a while back so I swatched a couple on the back of my hand and the consistency is so very creamy and they have a lovely smell. I picked up the number 2 and 7 a nude and pink. I also got a golden gloss in number 11 sheer with gold sparkles. I will post photos tommorow :D

This week i also got a delivery from mac. hoorah! 2 more petite indulgance cremesheen lipglosses my backups, Mac Angel lipstick, MAC red lipstick the tiny smudger brush from the bbr collection, vanilla e/s and another hk lil mirror.

Well i used to use dermalogica skincare years ago. I used to work with a girl who was a trained beauty therapist and she said that or pevonia were the best for skin as far as she was concerned.
After a year of normal skin but with the occasional breakout I fancied a change and fannied about trying all the latest lotions and potions and spending a fortune.
I never really felt like my skin was any different or vastly improved with anything I tried.
My mild uneven skintone was no different, i still had little veins on my cheeks and got spotty round my chin once a month.
Recently i tried Origins Dr Weil products for a month and expected perfect skin as I always do. It was expensive £46 for a pot of the face cream it was the most I had spent on one Item. Well my skin didnt approve and ended up looking puffy and dehydrated. It never sank in no matter how little I used and felt waxy on me.
After trawling ebay a week ago as you do I came across dermalogica starter kit for £11 for sensitized skin. The products I used to use years back and thought why not try it out again.
Relief!!
my skin is now smooth, hydrated but not oily and The barrier repair lotion has the same consistency as smashbox photofinish and is lovely under foundation. My fave has to be the soothing protection face spray and if you wanted to try any of the products I would say get a 50ml bottle of this from ebay for about £6 use after cleansing and lightly spray it on your face. It sinks in and stops any tightness or soreness. I have used this on him when he has had shave rash and it calms the skin really well.

i have normal/dry skin on my cheeks and normal skin on forehead and chin but my noise can get oily around the sides and it makes my foundation/powder kind of separate, so if im out i tend to use blot powder but it still lifts it and can look caked.
For the past few days i have been patting a tiny amount of udpp around the area after applyin on eyelids and it has stayed matt and grease free so far!

The hunt for my cheekbones continues!

so far 8lbs lost in 3 wks, gave up on weightwatchers as I looked at my weigh in card from this time and found one from 2 years ago and realised after paying out so much and pointing everything i had lost 1 miserable probably water weight lb lol

So, this time its a whole new ball game and the countdown is on, clock ticking, summer size 12/14 clothes in attic, motorbike leathers calling me.

I weigh 12stone on the nose as of this morning and need to be about 9 and a half/ish but would settle for 10st by june.

I should have carried on smoking and stayed with my ex husband who moaned if I gained a lb but contentment set in with new man after divorce and he loves eating out and loves me as I am. I'm sure hes a feeder lol

I joined the gym last month and make myself go at least 3 times a week, do 40mins cardio and weights, swim 5-10 lengths & have a plan from a man that says he likes a challenge lol poor git!

Calorie counting has replaced points as I have worked out my BMR, (basic calories needed to exist), deducted some to lose weight and divided up for each day and this is working! I was sceptical when the gym guy said try it but well nothing to lose as all other stuff had failed.

I love food and hate the gym - I am not one for sweating in public, being in a mixed gym with men nearby and looking fat and sweaty in gym gear gasping for breath while trying to look demure and really fit.

So here goes I will post now and then with how I am getting on but should go get some sleep as gym in the morning and need all the energy I can get :D

So i got a few things after i got made over :D just because i really needed them hehehe
mac brushes, 226, 224 and the 227, previously I have been using Ruby & millie brushes but they are so harsh and scratchy i just use them for cream color base application you couldnt blend with them without sandpapering your eyelid off a bit. Not good lol.!

Hello kitty half lashes which i had put on on my makeover - they are half lashes and dont curve so very fiddly to apply and due glue really does take a few mins to 'set' and stinks of fish lol does anyone else think this?.

select moisture cover concealer - better than my studiofinish one as it doesnt settle into lines and blends better under eyes.

I also took back 12 e/s pots and after faffing about with my list with none of them instock i came away with blankety and speed dial.

I looked at the KH quads in the flesh and ended up not being swayed. I really wanted the HK handbag mirror but they only got 6 on launch day and they went in 5 mins the girl said! they had hardly anything in stock no lip conditioners or glosses.

Mac makeover

well went and had my mac makeover today - god it was horrible removing my makeup sat on a chair in the storefront! Barefaced on a busy saturday in a dept store window haha it was like a bad acid trip or something.

Anyway after 10 mins while the lass got the bits she needed from the storefront and way she went on my face. Primed, foundation, powder ect.
She used sharkskin on my lids, deep truth and deep shade in the crease, vanilla under my brow and one of the hello kitty pigments deep blue green along my lower eye and on my lid all blended together.
To be honest the colors are all so similar I cant tell its not just 1 color.
She lined my lips with a burgundy liner and filled them in and topped with a lipglass in nice kitty.
She used a cream blusher in lilicent on my cheeks, bronzer as a contour and belightful over that.

All in all the look was very good. I was sat under an aircon vent though and my eyes were watering like mad so she kept blotting them then putting concealer on the corners then more eyeliner. So stunning dark deep eyes and bloodshot red angry eyeballs lol

Each time i go buy MAC from the debenhams dept store in MK 'the nearest to me' I always see someone getting there makeup done and it looks awesome.

So... i rang up and paid the deposit and got booked in for tommorow at 4pm.
I am not sure what look to go for.
To try the HK or a BBR look or something different all together.
It will take an hr and the £25 deposit i paid I will back on any products I buy.

I definately would love the HK lashes and another petite indulgance creemsheen but offhand cant really think of anything else to buy. I have 12 empty e/s pots to change for 2 lipsticks too.

I will post a pic - camera on charge - to show what i had done.
I just hope she makes me look like me if you know what I mean but younger and thinner and wealthy would be good hahaha well i can but hope

I have a links of london charm bracelet which i adore, so he bought me a links necklace with a red and silver heart charm on and it is gorgeous. Stole helium ballons from a restaurant after we went out for dinner with the girls and i had a helium fueled rendition of happy Birthday followed by a massive fondant fancy cake.
Visits from my mum and one of my 6 sisters! I have 8 siblings but they are useless at anything like b'days xmas ect for being in such a huge family I am forever alone :(

The makeupbags are way overpriced and while i like the brush set the LE brushes i have had from sets are not as good as the fufll size i think they must be machine produced my ones from the xmas sets are uneven bristled and shed alot.

Shopping at Milton Keynes makes where I live in Northampton look like a village :)
the centre is huge and you get all of the makeup counters in the big dept stores.
Plus.. its the closest Mac counter to me.
I picked up a few things Dolly mix Blusher, 165 tapered blush brush, lustreglass in flashmode, black tied, wedge, knight divine eyeshadows and a couple of samples of prep and prime and moisturiser.

Still on the lookout for a makeup case of some kind at the moment its all unorganised and I hate not being able to find what I need.

A Mighty Heart.
really good film but stomach churningly sad.
It seams there are alot of gut wrenching films on at night this week.
I endured the Magdelene Sisters last night about 3 Irish girls sent to a convent for wayward girls. It was based on a true story and set in the days when out of wedlock sex was to be ashamed of.
It was awful and was one of those films u had to watch even though at times u could cry it was that emotional.
Maybe my lack of sugar is making me find these sad movies.

I'm mourning the lack of junk food lol.

Well eventually filmed my haul vlog Does everyone else have high tech gear? I'm sure ill get the hang of it :) I am so nervous on it though. might be my last lol
Avoided getting weighed this week as other half is a feeder and I ate all last week but back on the wagon this week as he is abroad again (continental lorry driver) and goin to the gym so current weight loss 8lbs so far about 2 stone to go. That will teach me to stop smoking ;)
